Looking towards Fall
Yes, Summer is barely here, but we are evaluating our ministry needs for Fall. So far, we have two big efforts this fall:
- To stabilize the After School Ministry at Baptist Community Center through specialized classes, a Conduct Covenant, and new types of hands-on Bible lessons.
- Connecting churches with the ministries at both Friendship House and Community Center.
So far we’ve identified three ways to help meet our needs for the Fall:
- Five team leaders, one for each day of the week, for our After-School Ministry. The team leader will assist us in recruiting 10-12 volunteers for the team and rotate the schedule to ensure at least four volunteers are there each week. Knowing that there is a deep pool of volunteers with schedules kept by someone else will free Pat’s time to develop more ministries for the children.
- Teams of churches to help provide meals once a month for the Ladies Bible Club at the Friendship House. Currently we need one team for the 1st Thursday and one for the 4th Thursday. In the past, WMU circles have helped, but anyone or any group can is welcome to help.
- Folks who could periodically lead a Bible study in the morning for our ladies. Along with the Bible study, our ladies simply desire fellowship, attention, and love.
While more specifics are being hammered out, we do know that we need are prayer and volunteers.
We also know for these ministries to have a chance at reaching our communities, we cannot do it alone. We pray that God will allow us to meet willing volunteers who can offer us just a small amount of time out of their busy week.
