Minister of Music Position
Riverdale Baptist Church is seeking a qualified applicant for the Minister of Music position. The Minister of Music is a permanent, part time position with hours determined by the church that will be responsible for the musical portion of our worship program. The committee has met five times (May 24, June 7, July12, August 9 and September 13) since the announcement of the Executive Director’s retirement.

- Search committee training
- Discussed the Executive Director “Job Description” as described in the Organizational Manual
- Decided to give first priority to search for Interim Executive Director
- Prioritized responsibilities for an Interim Executive Director
- Discussed the expectations and compensation for an Interim Executive Director
- Discussed the search process for an Interim Executive Director
- Decided to make two recommendations to the Executive Committee for approval
- Selected Harold Cook as the candidate for the Interim Executive Director. He will be presented to the Association for election to this position during the Fall Meeting (October 25, 2011)

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION DIRECTOR – CHAPLAIN
Position needed for HopeTree Family Services, headquartered in Salem, VA. Responsible for coordinating and planning religious activities for residents and staff, including worship services, Bible studies, and missions activities. Must have knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to work with families, at-risk adolescents, adults with intellectual disabilities, and staff. Must be able to build relationships with local churches to enlist support, and provide involvement opportunities for residents. Experience in grief, serious illness, and crisis counseling is required (Clinical Pastoral Education training is preferred). Must have a Master’s degree from an accredited theological school or seminary; and be ordained to the gospel ministry. HopeTree Family Services is a partnership ministry with the Baptist General Association of Virginia. Must be 21 years of age and have an acceptable driving record.
