T. Ivey Adams currently lives in Salem after retiring from active ministry. He is a graduate of Troy State and Southwestern Seminary. He served a number of churches as pastor, the last was Beulah in Franklin County. While serving at the Baptist Children’s Home in Salem, he also served as an interim pastor in several area churches. Ray Allen is a native Virginian, educated at the University of Richmond (B.A. & D.D.), Southern (M.Div.) and Southeastern Seminary (D.Min.). He has pastored several churches in Virginia, the last being Blacksburg Baptist Church. He retired early and lives at Smith Mt. Lake. Daniel Barham currently lives in Buchanan, VA and is a licensed practical nurse. He is licensed to the ministry by his home church Mill Creek Baptist. He is currently enrolled at the Leland Center for Theological Studies and lay counseling certification training. He is available for supply, interim and would consider vocational or full-time. Richard Brown was born in the Valley. He is a graduate of Averett College and Southern Seminary. He has done additional study in Clinical Pastoral Education and currently serves as the chaplain at Community Hospital. He is available for interim work. His number is 977-1718.
George Bulson served two churches as pastor in Christiansburg for twenty four years before moving to Cleveland, TN to pastor Big Spring Baptist Church. He and his wife (Chris), recently returned to Christiansburg to be closer to their children and grandchildren. George has 31 plus years of service as a pastor. Harold Cook retired after 25 years as pastor at Springwood Baptist. Served as interim at Mill Creek Baptist on two occasions and interim at Troutville. Since retirement he has served as interim at Villa Heights, Enon, Airlee Court and Lynn Haven. Tom Cribb has served churches in Virginia, NC and SC. He has pastored several churches in the Roanoke Valley. He has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southern Baptist Seminary. He is a certified Church Consultant by the Lawless Group of Louisville, Ky., and was also trained in consulting by ChurchSmart, St. Charles, Ill. Tom has completed his third Church Consult in the Roanoke area. In addition, Tom is a certified and experienced Intentional Interim Pastor and has completed the Transitional Pastor Training. Charles “Chips” Doyle is a lifelong resident of the Valley. He pastored Hollins Road for a number of years prior to his retirement. He is a graduate of Concord College and Southeastern Seminary. He has served as interim pastor in several churches in our association. His phone number is 366-9222.
Rick Elmore, who pastored both the Tabernacle Baptist Church and Cave Spring Baptist Church in the Roanoke Valley, has retired after 44 years of ministry in Southern Baptist Churches. Sam Harvey recently retired from the pastorate and moved back to his native Salem. A graduate of Wake Forest, Southeastern and Union, he pastored in Virginia and North Carolina. His phone number is 540-375-2910.
Thomas G. Harvey has served churches in our area for the past 35 years to include Franklin County, Salem, Lexington and Christiansburg. He also pastored a church in Nova Scotia. Mission trips have taken him and his wife Nancy to Costa Rica, Brazil, England and Switzerland. He is currently on the Board of Oak Hill Academy and served twice as a representative to the Virginia Baptist Mission Board. He is a graduate of UVa. and Southern Seminary (MDiv. & D.Min.) and was an infantry training officer in the U.S. Army. He retired to his family home in Salem on April 1, 2011. David Henry recently retired as a pastor in several churches in Virginia, and has moved to Roanoke. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond and Southeastern. His phone no. is 989-6884.
Steve Manuel has served as pastor, youth minister, education minister, music minister, consultant, and missionary during his many years of ministry in churches in Virginia, Texas, Florida, and Mexico. For eighteen years he and his wife Barbara were with the International Mission Board. He later served as Director of Missions for the Strawberry Baptist Association. He holds degrees from Mars Hill College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has been trained and certified by the Center for Congregational Health for Intentional Interim Ministry. Don Pegram is a long-time Baptist, pastor, evangelist and conference pastor serving most recently at Haran Baptist (Roanoke), Pulaski First Baptist, and as interim at Connelly Memorial (Roanoke).
