Sunday’s Meeting
Yesterday Bob and Judy met with folks from Virginia at Cannon Ball. However, there was a building conflict so the group had to meet outside the school.
About 98% of the folks from Virginia this week are first-timers to the reservation. They’re a bit nervous as to what to expect. However, three Native Americans from Wakpala showed up at Cannon Ball and were excited that a team would be working there.
Pray for the first-timers. Pray for the McLaughlin team as they have to work outside today because of a funeral. Pray for the construction crew adding an addition at Ft. Yates. Pray for the folks opening a new site at Porcupine.
The pictures below are of Boots’ completed truck and the opening meeting.
The Estes truck arrived!
Bob and Judy awaited the arrival of the Estes truck with Boots and Jackie at Cannon Ball Friday. The truck, an answer to prayer, carried tons of supplies and other items needed at the reservation.
Here are some pictures of the arrival and unloading.
Welcome!
This is the “official” Standing Rock blog for the Roanoke Valley Baptist Association’s relationship with the Lakota Sioux at the Standing Rock Reservation in North and South Dakota.
As teams from across Virginia and the Roanoke Valley gear up to head out to the Dakotas in the next couple of weeks, this site will be routinely updated with pictures, videos, and accounts of all that’s going on.
On the right side, links to other blogs are featured. Additionally, the latest news about Standing Rock from media sources are posted to help give an idea of what’s going on. Currently increased suicides and a lack of law enforcement officers are making the news.
Please pray for those serving and being served on the reservation. Pray for safe travels, new relationships, and existing relationships strengthened. Please pray that the love of Christ will be evident and shared with the Native Americans.
Stay tuned for more updates!
